Task
Manager Wont Open
When you try to open Task Manager (usually to kill/stop a program that wont respond) you receive the following error message:
"Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator."
Before going any further, if the computer in question is a corporate computer or maintained by a corporate entity we highly suggest consulting the corporate IT group first before continuing. Some organizations may disable the feature intentionally. If this issue is new to you and you are the administrator of the computer in question then chances are this issue is being caused by some sort of malicious software or spyware on your computer. The malicious software disables Task Manager so that it is more difficult for the average person to use the Task Manager in killing/stopping malicious software.
The setting which needs to be corrected can be accessed through the registry and through your Group Policy Editor. Due to the potentially dangerous steps involved in resolving this issue, we are simply pointing you to where the change is to be made. If you require step-by-step instructions, please contact us first so we can access the situation and skill level involved.
Note: We also offer remote assistance. If you would rather have us make the change for you remotely please give us a call and we will discuss this option with you.
You can reach Asadoorian Consulting by either phone or email. Due to the high volume of calls, you may have to leave a message. We promise that your call will be returned as soon as possible.
